Vicarage Primary School were delighted to welcome Annabel Bates, Newham's Interim Director of Education, Inclusion & Achievement, for the official opening of their new Support Wing on June 11th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was a momentous occasion, attended by enthusiastic pupils, proud parents, staff, school governors, Trustees and leaders from across the Trust.
The newly inaugurated Support Wing includes a spacious, purpose-built classroom equipped with exciting new resources, a large soft-play room tailored for therapeutic and recreational activities, an office space and a vibrant outdoor play area that promotes physical activity and social interaction.
In a touching tribute, the new wing has been named after the school’s site supervisor, Mr. Tony Dempster. Mr. Dempster has devoted over 20 years working in schools across Newham and has been a steadfast presence at Vicarage Primary School since 2008. His unwavering dedication and meticulous attention to detail have ensured that the school consistently upholds the highest standards of safety and cleanliness, creating a welcoming and secure environment for both pupils and staff.
The Dempster Support Wing represents a significant advancement in the school's commitment to inclusivity and specialized education. It has been carefully designed to provide a high-quality learning environment for pupils with additional needs, ensuring they receive the personalised support and resources for their educational journey through primary school.
